What is Email Warmup?
Email warmup builds your sender reputation with email providers like Gmail and Outlook. New or dormant email addresses often land in spam. By sending emails to your own accounts and having them reply back, you signal to ESPs that your address is a real, trusted sender.
How It Works
- Add your own email addresses (Gmail, Outlook, etc.) as warmup contacts
- Send warmup emails from your outreach address to those contacts
- Open and reply to those emails from the receiving accounts
- This builds a pattern of legitimate, engaged conversations
Best Practices
- Start with 2-3 emails per day, increase gradually
- Use natural subject lines (no spam triggers)
- Reply from each receiving account within a few hours
- Vary content — don't send identical messages
- Move emails out of spam/promotions to inbox if needed
- Continue warmup even after starting real outreach
